Western Shores Second Addition Association, Inc.
Board of Directors Meeting - February 4, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. by President Diane Reese. Present at the meeting were Board Members Diane Reese, Judy Barbaro, Evelyn Nevins, Ken Rider, and Ray Tuholski. Residents in attendance were Sarah Bowden, Thearon Scheidler, and Marlene Conklin.
The first order of business was the discussion of a permanent sign for the BOD meetings. Diane suggeted that we keep the current sign and notify residents by e=mail. These was a consensus of agreement by all members.
Diane has called 5 companies concerning insurance for the BOD insurance and has only received responses from 2. The insurance is a separate policy from our current one. Our current insurance is through Nationwide and will be up for renewal on 5-27-10. Their quote for BOD insurance is $988.80.
All-in-One Insuarance will be calling back as their quote was based on an incorrect number of residents. To date Joyce Evans-Norcross has not been able to obtain any information from the company she suggested at the annual meeting. Ken Rider suggested we place an ad in the newspaper to get additional quotes. Diane, Judy, Ray and Evelyn felt an ad was an unnecessary expense. No ad will be placed in the newspaper. Since it was voted on and approved at the annual meeting to raise dues to $100. to cover the BOD of directors insuracnce, we will go with the lowest bid from either Nationwide or All-In-One Insurance. Diane will e-mail board members when she receives the bid from All-In-One.
Ken Rider reported that road fund collections are complete with one exception.
There was a consensus of board members that the budget will be presented and voted on at the annual meeting instead of holding a special meeting prior to the January Annual Meeting.
Evelyn will call the church and schedule the annual meeting possible for January 10, 2011 for 5 - 8 pm. If that date isn't available, the next Monday in January will be chosen.
Deed restrictions suggestions from residents were distributed and will be discussed at the next meeting on Febuary 15, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the residence of Judy Barbaro.
Thearon Sheidler's request for a railing on her seawall was approved.
The impact on the trailer lot will be assessed when and if the deed restrictions allow boats in carports.
The association by-laws need to be updated and filed. This will be discussed after the deed restriction issues have been resolved.
Procedures for sending out letters were discussed. In the future all complaints, questions, or concerns must be given to the BOD in writing.
All meeting minutes will be e-mailed, hand delivered, or e-mailed.
Ray will look into finding a qualified engineer to asses what needs to be done with the sea wall.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
