In accordance with our goal to be more thorough and careful with residents' requests, the Board met on Jan. 2, 2012 at the Barbaros to consider a request from John McGrath. Meeting was called to order at 6:45. Present were Judy Barbaro, Ray Tuholski, Evelyn Nevins, Gail Watson, Thearon Sheidler, and Marlene Conklin.
John McGrath would like to bring his new work truck when he comes down in January. It is considered to be a commercial vehicle because of business lettering on the truck. He will stock it with tools and get it organized for his work. A call placed to him revealed that it is a Ford F-350 which is taller than a normal pickup. It has utility boxes on the sides. It would take approximately 4 or 5 days for him to complete his task. The truck could then be moved to the driveway of his brother-in-law Ralph Marsh on Carl Rd. for the remainder of John's stay.
Marlene voiced her concern that someone from the community might object to anything more than temporary parking of the vehicle. In fact, grumblings from some members had already reached the Board. Ray made the motion that the truck could be in the McGraths' driveway temporarily in order for him to organize it. The motion was seconded by Judy. Motion approved. Evelyn abstained because she is related to the McGraths.
It was noted that there is a boat in the storage lot which possibly belongs to new residents. They will need to move the boat as regulations do not permit boat storage, only storage of trailers. Because those residents do not have a boat dock, possible solutions may include screening their carport in order to store the boat there or renting a dock from another resident. Residents should also be aware that there are no "assigned" spots at the storage lot. Cooperation and understanding among all users is encouraged. Ray will copy the necessary information about the trailer lot and get it to Board members.
Ray also has located a battery operated timer that may solve the bush-watering problem at the storage lot. We plan to purchase one and give it a try. Some bushes may also need to be replanted while adding some good soil or loam to the roots.
A reminder to residents is needed concerning those who rent their properties. Permission and Board approval is needed for renters just the same as for buyers. Forms are available. This will be noted at the annual meeting. Thearon talked about enforcement of that procedure. It was agreed that contact from our attorney may be necessary for those who do not submit the proper paperwork to the Board. There is also an appropriate form for pets joining our community. Board approval is necessary. It is our hope that by following these procedures, problems may be avoided.
Judy moved for adjournment. Marlene seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:45.
